Srinagar : Police, army and CRPF on Wednesday destroyed an IED in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“The joint teams of Police alongwith Army (29RR) and CRPF (45Bn) detected an IED on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near PDD Office Pattan,” a police spokesperson said in a statement to GNS. Soon after the detection of the IED, he said, traffic was halted and the movement of people was restricted. Accordingly, Bomb Disposal Squad was rushed to spot and the IED was destroyed without causing any damage.
“In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Pattan and further investigation is in progress,” he said, addi, “The timely recovery of the IED thwarted an untoward incident and has scuttled the nefarious plans of terrorists to derail peace and harmony.” (GNS)
