Budgam : Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a Hybrid militant and two associates in separate incidents.
A police spokesperson in a statement to GNS said that the militant was arrested in connection with grenade attack on minority community earlier this month.
In a handout to GNS, the police two hybrid militant were already arrested on Saturday (20th August) in connection with the case.
“During further course of investigation of Case FIR number 147/2022, Budgam Police today arrested one more hybrid militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba who is involved in grenade attack on minorities”.
The police spokesman further said that incriminating material of Lashkar-e-Toiba and one hand grenade was recovered from the possession of the arrested “hybrid militant” identified as Suhail Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Hamid Malik resident of Panzan Chadoora.
“Further investigation into the said case is going on more arrests and recoveries are expected,” police said.
It’s pertinent to mention that one minority member was injured in the grenade attack at Gopalpora Chadoora.
Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested two Lashker-e-Toiba militants associates in the Budgam district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that it along with army’s 50 RR and 181 Bn CRPF arrested two militant along with two AK magazines and 54 AK rounds.
The arrested militant associates have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz Bhat resident of Kralpora and Sameer Ahmad Najar son of Gulam Ahmad resident of Gund Chekpora Kanipora, he said.
“Both arrested militant associates have been found involved in providing logistics and support to the active militant of LeT as well as transportation of arms and ammunition in Chadoora area of Budgam,” he said.
A case vide FIR No.150/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated, he added.(GNS)
