Kyiv: One person was killed and four injured in a fire at a residential building in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district, Ukraine’s Emergency Service said on Friday. The agency said that the blaze broke out after the remains of a downed rocket hit the five-story building, CNN reported. The initial report about a fire was received at 8:4 am (local time), the agency said. The firefighters saw there was a fire from the first through the third floors. According to preliminary information, 12 people were rescued and 98 people were evacuated, the service added. Meanwhile, Russia had launched six missiles towards Lviv. The Ukrainian armed forces said the projectiles were most likely cruise missiles fired from warplanes over the Black Sea. Two of the missiles were intercepted by air defense systems, it added. UNI RNJ
