Kyiv: One person was killed while three others wounded after debris from a Russian missile hit a residential building in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday, media reports said. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said it received a report of a fire and damage to a 16-storey apartment in the Darnytsky district at 5.02 am local time, CNN reported. The blaze was later brought under-control, the Service said. Rescuers evacuated 30 people from the site. Another Russian missile hit an educational facility around 3.30 am there as well, the BBC said. Authorities said the building in Merefa, a town in the northwest region of Kharkiv that has been one of the worst-hit since the Russian invasion started on February 24, was partially destroyed. Fire services were yet to extinguish the blaze, BBC added. According to local media, a school and a community centre were also hit. UNI VP ING
