Srinagar, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday detained three unidentified persons when they were caught allegedly attempting to ‘Kidnap’ a minor girl in Chewa village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Locals said that three unknown persons who were boarded in a vehicle (Alto) bearing registration number JK15A-1646 suddenly stopped their vehicle near Ziyarat Shareef located in Chewa village of Bandipora and attempted to allegedly kidnap a minor girl name withheld.
As per locals when they heard hue and cry they rushed towards the spot, and caught three unidentified persons. They also said that it was found that unknown persons were also carrying multiple number plates upon searching the vehicle.
Subsequently, locals informed and handed over the three persons to concerned Police Post Ajas and as per local residents all the three men have been detained in Police Post Ajas.
Family members confirmed that we have lodged a report in police post Ajas.
Residents demanded stern action against the accused persons.
A police official said that police are verifying the incident and details will be shared later as police have detained the three persons for questioning. He said it can be rumor mongering aslo and can’t comment officially on this. (KDC)
