Srinagar : A complete shutdown was observed for the second consecutive day on Sunday against the militant killings in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district yesterday.
The encounter that occurred on Saturday left 6 Ansar Ghazwatul Hind militants dead including its deputy chief.
Eyewitness told VMS that hundreds of people thronged Arampora village where six Ghazwat-ul-Hind militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces yesterday.
The six slain militants identified as Soliha Mohammad Akhoon, son of Ghulam Mohammad Akhoon of Arampora, Rasik Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir, Rouf Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi, Umer Ramzan, son of Mohammad Ramzan Mir, residents of Dadsara, Nadeem Sofi, son of Mohammad Muzaffar Sofi of Batgund, Tral at present Dadsara and Faisal Javid Khanday, son of Javid Khanday of Amlar Awantipora, were killed during an encounter with government forces at Arampora village in Tral.
Reports said that people from the adjoining villages also visited the residences of slain militants as a mark of solidarity with the families.
Meanwhile, railway authorities have resumed train service in the valley since this morning. The train service started from Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla track in north Kashmir and also Budgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal.The railway service was suspended on Saturday for security reasons after an encounter with security forces at Tral in Pulwama on Saturday.
Internet services remained suspended in the area for the second day.(VMS)
