November 27: Police in there second statement on the encounter at Redwani Kulgam, said that it is further informed that the killed militants have been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Makroo son of Late Ghulam Rasool Makroo resident of Qaimoh and Waris Ahmad Malik son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Arwani and.
As per police records both the killed militants were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT and were wanted by the law for their complicity in a series of terror crimes including attack on security establishments and civilian atrocities.
Ajaz Makroo as per police records had a long history of terror crime records since 2017. He was a close associate of militant commanders Naveed Jat and Azad Dada. Several terror cases were registered against him and the prominent among them include FIR No. 60/2016, FIR No. 45/2017, FIR No. 100/2017, FIR No. 10/2018, FIR No. 13/2018 registered at Police Station Kulgam. Similarly, Waris was also figured in several terror crimes cases.
Moreover, the militant killed in encounter in Hafoo Reshipora Tral has been identified as Shakir Hassan Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Rathsuna Tral. He was a part of Zakir Musa group of militants and had a long history of terror crime records since 2015. He was wanted by law for his complicity in series of terror crimes including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities.
Police has separately registered a case in both encounters. Huge quantity of arms & ammunition including rifles were recovered from the encounter sites at Tral and Kulgam. All these materials have been taken in the case records for further investigation and probe their complicity in other terror cases.
Citizens are once again requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
