BANDIPORA, JULY 24: The four day State Volleyball Referee Clinic organized by District Volleyball Association Bandipora under the aegis of J&K Volleyball Association concluded at S.K. Sports Stadium, here today. Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Bandipora, Hamida Akhtar was the Chief Guest at the function.
The clinic was conceived by Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) to update the skills of Physical Education Teachers, M.P.Ed students and senior Volleyball players of Kashmir Valley. The reputed international Volleyball Referee Rameshwar Singh Chauhan from Himachal Pradesh, who was the course Director of the clinic provided latest tips/rules of Volleyball game as per the norms of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) to the trainees. Besides theory, practical and audio visual classes were taken to chisel officiating methods of conducting Volleyball Matches threadbare.
The clinic culminated with objective type written test in which candidates from far off areas such as Gurez, Kupwara. Uri, Baramulla, Kulgam and Pulwama participated.
The ACR on the occasion strongly advocated for promotion of sports among youth to get rid of social evils including drug menace. She congratulated the organizers for holding the clinic for the first time in Kashmir Valley for enabling Volleyball officials of the state to learn latest techniques /expertise of the game.
Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council Volleyball Association said that Volley ball association of J&K is one of the leading Sports Associations among 53 affiliated with J&K Sports Council who has undertaken lead in holding various Camps /Clinics for players /officials in the state in its outreach programme. He also urged other sports bodies of the state to follow VAJK foot prints in enriching Sports activities in the state.
General Secretary VAJK, Vijay Magotra apprised aims & Objectives of holding the clinic in Kashmir Valley. He called upon all trainees to show their skills of officiating Volleyball Match in Srinagar in the month of September 2018 where VAJK is holding State Volleyball Championship for Boys and Girls.
Among others, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Chief Executive officer and Executive Member VAJK, Associate Secretary VFI, also interacted on the occasion.
Organizing Secretary of the clinic conducted the proceedings which concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants.
