Srinagar, 26 Apr.2018: All-rounder Manzoor Dar (Pandav) is the only player from Jammu and Kashmir state in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been bought by Kings XI Punjab at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. Before him, Parvez Rasool, J & K skipper, was the player from the state to feature in IPL. The Kings Eleven Punjab yet not gave him a chance to display his talents. Having eight teams each restricted to four foreign players in the playing 11 means that there are at least 7 Indians who get a chance to show their abilities in each match. This sort of opportunity not available yet to young Kashmiri cricketer, Manzoor Pandav.
Disappointed at Manzoor’s non-inclusion in the playing eleven of Kings Eleven Punjab team in the ongoing Mega Event IPL 2018 Edition, People here in Jammu and Kashmir urged the Kings eleven Punjab’s Captain Ravichandran Ashwin, Management and selectors to give him a chance to prove himself,
“Come on Kings Eleven Punjab give the young man (Manzoor Pandav) a chance to prove himself,” A Kashmiri Cricker said.
He added, an avid cricket follower from valley, had expressed disappointment that the Jammu and Kashmir cricketer has not been given a game.
Manzoor shot to fame with a brilliant all-round performance. In recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy, Manzoor had several decent performances which helped him being noticed at the national stage. Let’s hope that the day he is in playing XI for Kings Eleven Punjab is not far. Let us wish him for a prolific future in Cricket.
