Pulwama, March 11: Clashes erupted in Drabgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday between government forces and the protesters after the former launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO). Youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones as soon as the CASO was launched, said a witness.
Forces personnel comprising Jammu & Kashmir police, army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off the village.Reports said that massive forces were deployed in the village and house-to-house searches were launched in the area.
An official said that a cordon and search operation was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.
