Ganderbal, March 07:- The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today inaugurated a mega job fair organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Ganderbal under National Career Service Programme of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. DDC Ganderbal was also accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, N.A Baba on the occasion.
The DDC after inaugurating the event inspected various stalls set up by the Private Companies and Line Departments. He visited the stalls one by one and inquired about the schemes being provided by the line departments for unemployed youth of the District.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC accentuated that educated youth should come forward and took benefits of the schemes and programmes. He urged the stakeholders for full cooperation to make the event successful in the larger interest of the Unemployed Youth of the District. He said Job Fairs and Self Employment Schemes can absorb big chunk of educated youth with proper orientation with structured entrepreneurship training among them.
The Line Departments disseminated information about their respective Self Employment Schemes among the Job Seekers and registered the aspirants as well.
During the job fair, 325 total registrations of unemployed educated youth were done out of which 106 registrations were made by representatives of private organizations for placements. Moreover, 219 Registrations were done by Government Departments under various Self Employment Schemes.
Among others, Deputy District Election Officer Ganderbal, Bilqees Jan, Assistant Director Employment Ganderbal, Parvaiz Ahmad and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
