Ready for upcoming Panchayat Election: Haji Farooq
KUPWARA, FEB 04: Pradesh Congress Committee District President Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir has asked the workers to get ready for the upcoming Panchayat elections.
Addressing a gathering of leaders and workers of INC at Town Hall Kupwara, Haji Farooq lashed out at the government and the ruling party for “allowing Kupwara to be run and administered as a territory where workers of the ruling party are literally running the administration on political lines and biases for their personal gains.”
According to our correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir, Haji Farooq said “ Lolab constituency in district Kupwara is reeling under an unprecedented reign of harassment and politicized administration and is drowned in corruption and nepotism as the representatives of the ruling party are allowing and disallowing justice based on the political affiliations of people.”
However, the party has raised concern over security scenario, stating that if Parliament polls couldn’t be held in Anantnag, how come Panchayat elections are feasible, he said while talking to media.
He added that the government had to guarantee the security of the candidates who would contest the polls and have to assure the political groups that no untoward incident will be allowed to take place.
