ANANTNAG, JANUARY 16: In order to finalize the arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day-2018, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bangalow Khanabal.
The meeting was attended by ADC, ADDC, Commandants of 40, 90 and 96 BN CRPF, SE R&B, SDMs, Chief Education Officer, ACD, Chief Medical Officer, DySP DAR, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, ARTO, DYSSO, Exens of R&B, PHE, PDD, heads of educational institutions and other district officers.
Informing the meeting, the CEO said that 16 schools are going to participate in the march past and cultural activities on the Republic Day.
It was decided that a joint exercise of march past contingents and cultural programmes being performed by the school children shall be held in a couple of days.
The arrangements with regard to seating, barricading of venue, drinking water supply, electricity and illumination around the venue, sanitation and heating arrangements were also reviewed in the meeting.
The ARTO was directed to arrange the transport facilities for the children during these days. Meanwhile, the ACD was entrusted with the responsibility of providing refreshment to the children participating in the Republic Day celebration.
Regarding cleanliness and sanitation in and around the venue, the DC directed the officers of Municipality and R&B department to deploy the requisite manpower before the rehearsal and the main function.
The Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag was directed to keep an ambulance with doctors and paramedics and life-saving drugs available at the venue from 24th to 26th of January 2018.
It was also given out that similar functions will be held at Sub Divisions of Pahalgam, Doru, Kokernag and Bijbehara besides also in Tehsil headquarters of the district.
