Police reject reports, term allegations baseless
Srinagar, Jan 14 : The residents of old city on Sunday accused government forces of ransacking their houses in barging into their homes without any reason.
The locals of Hariparbat area of Hawal said that on Sunday afternoon government forces barged into their homer after cordoning the area and ransacked house hold goods without any reason.
Amongst them a Doordarshan official Arifa Jabeen said that forces ransacked her property in Hariparbat area with large contingent of Police barging into her home that too when no male member was inside the house. She said that the house hold goods were damaged out rightly with personnel threatening and intimidating her without any reason. She said that forces accused her of sheltering militants when there was no such thing reported anywhere in the area.
Meanwhile, when contacted DIG Central Kashmir, Ghulam Hassan Bhat rejected such allegations and stated that no incident of harassment and intimidation has taken place anywhere in the area. He said that keeping in view the security scenario ahead of republic day forces in a routine manner take precautionary measures. (KNS)
