An unidentified female dead body which was later identified by police was recovered Friday afternoon from the orchards of Jahama – 9 kilometers away from Baramulla town.
The body was found by locals, lying in an orchard at Jahama in the jurisdiction of Delina police post. They informed the local police who took the dead body in their custody for further investigation.
“We received the information from locals about a woman’s body lying in orchards, our team took the body to hospital for postmortem”, said an official from police department.
Police said that the deceased, identified as Haneefa Begum wife of Ghulam Hassan Mir R/O Dar Mohalla Khaitangan Baramulla, had gone missing last night. She had fracture in head with some injury marks.
“She was accompanying her mother as attendant in district hospital and was missing since midnight after she went out for some work”, police said.
The deceased aged around 40 as per police records is the mother of seven. Police said investigations are going on in the case.
Deceased’s husband is a labourer by profession. The body was handed over to family after postmortem in district hospital Baramulla.
