Srinagar-25, December:The family of Nasir Amin Darzi, the youth from Baramulla suspected to have joined militants, on Saturday again appealed him to return home.
Darzi, a painter, has been missing since December 2.
Reportedly, he left his home for Srinagar along with his friends to attend a court as a witness to the burning of a gate at Nishat in 2008. Unable to locate him since then, his family came down to Press Enclave here to appeal Darzi “to come back for the sake of his widowed mother and siblings”. Snowber Amin Darzi, his sister, told that he continued to be untraceable.
“We don’t know where he is. Our earlier appeal to him didn’t yield anything. We are very worried, waiting for him to come back,” she said.
Darzi, in his late 20s, was the only earning hand in his family. In his absence, the family has been having a tough time. “I have one more brother, who is pursuing graduation. Besides, I have old grandparents. Where from will we get the money for our needs?” she said.
Snowber said his mother was desperately waiting for him.
“I have already lost my father in 1995. Our mother is the only support. Ever since, Nasir went missing, she is not feeling well. We took her to a doctor, who prescribed some medicines,” she said.
“She is bed ridden, crying for her son, spending sleepless nights. We are apprehensive about her well-being,” she said, appealing, “If for no one, please come back for our mother.”
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain said they have filed a missing report. “We are trying to trace Nasir. He should come back,” he said.
