Srinagar, Dec 22: Mohd Maqbool, State President J&K Co-Ordination Committee of Trade Unions ( JKCCTU) termed the SRO 520 as an open attack on the job security of the employees and an eye wash for temporary workers like casual, contract ,seasonal etc who were waiting for regularisation of their services as permanent Govt. Employee with all service rights.
While addressing in an emergency meeting of JKCCTU activists and office bearers at Srinagar said State government and the Finance Minister while perusing the Neo- liberal economic and Anti-working class policies has used the Europen model of contratorisation of jobs in a new form which is nothing accept to snatch away the employees right of job security.
He said instead of Govt. Employees now these temporary workers will be called as Govt. Services Assistants ( GSA) and they will practically as contract workers with category wise wages without any service benefits as regular employees.
The meeting while criticizing the said SRO called upon all permanent and temporary employee to launch protest actions though out the State against this Anti-employees S RO 520 and demanded its revocation and a clear cut policy of regularisation like SRO 64 with all service benefits like Govt. Employees. The JKCCTU also urged all the Trade Unions of the State to condemn this S RO which is an open attack on the job security of employee and united launch struggle to force the Govt to withdraw this.
