CADP Employees Association Kashmir president Aijaz Khan today warned State Government of intensified protests if it does not resolve the long pending issues of food employees and accept their demands.
“Today under the banner of CAPD Employees Association Kashmir, the protest of hundreds of employees which you are seeing is a witness to this fact that Government, department’s head and our Minister has not solved our issues for which they had formed a committee. The committee was formed to resolve our genuine demand in which CAPD Employees Association was made representative but six months have passed, Government is not solving our issues,” CAPD Employees Association president Ajaz Khan told reporters here.
He said that the Government is not resolving the issue of fair price shop owners, store keepers and other employees of the Department. “Our labourers have been rendered jobless due to closure of godowns. Their issues are pending. On the one hand, Government says there is no need to come on roads as it will resolve pending issues but on the other, the situation is this,” Khan said.
Ajaz Khan according to news agency GNS said that no departmental promotion is taking place from last several years due to which the employees suffer a lot. “We demand allotting of grade Rs 4000- 6000 in favour of the departmental storekeepers, regularization of all the labourers working in central go-downs for many years, release of loading-unloading charges which are pending with the department since years as also commission due to the FP shop owners across the valley,” he said.
“We also demand same treatment as prevalent in FCI with regard to the wastage of essential commodities. The government should fix monthly wages in favour of departmental labourers (Hamals) working at sale depos besides must directly induct football players of the department as storekeepers not as labourers as they are treated presently,” Khan said.
The CAPD Employees Association president warned Government not to force them to come on streets and instead resolve their issues. “I, as a president of CADP Association Kashmir, want to say this that we are being forced to come out on roads because our genuine demands are not being accepted.
“We have always supported work culture and our minister Chowdhary Zulfikar. We have supported Government every time, be it at the time of NFSA or digitalization. You have seen how we worked in turmoil. Even Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh hailed us for our work. But injustice is being meted to us. As president, I want to tell the government to resolve our issues or face protest. We will intensify this battle to other areas and districts.”
Meanwhile, CAPD Employees Association would submit a memorandum to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir amid a protest march on December 11.
