Processions held in Several Towns; Scholars throw Light on Teachings of Islam
Doda:- Dec 01: The Muslim religious festival Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was on Friday celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in Doda and other major parts of Chenab Valley region.
In Doda District, the main programme was held in Doda town where large number of people from different localities assembled at Markazi Jamia Masjid Doda to join a Milad procession.
The procession entered Nehru Chowk area and after passing through Gattu Mohalla, Eid Gah Road, Astan Mohalla via Bharath road at it passed through main market near Bus Stand Doda and later culminate at Eidgah Doda where religious scholars threw light on teachings of Islam.
The procession was led by Imam Jamia Masjid Doda Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy.
The session started with recitation of holy Quran by followed by Naat-e-Rasool.
While speaking to the gathering at Eid Gah Doda, Suharwardy agave religious discourses and highlighted the significance of the day in Islam. He said Islam preaches peace, love and brotherhood and has always stood against the suppression and oppression. Further Suharwardy asked the gathering to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammed in true spirit.
Various religious, social and business communities had erected banners on roads and shops greeting people on the occasion.
Senior administrative officers including Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhawani Rakhwal, SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir, SP Operation, ASP Doda Vijay Kumar Khullar, Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali Natnoo and Dy SP Hqr Iftikhar Ahmed Qureshi were also present on the procession.
Meanwhile similar kind of procession were held at all the major parts of Chenab region including Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Thathri, Batote, Kishtwar, Ramban and Banihal.
