SRINAGAR | NOV 28: Life returned to normal in the valley after remaining crippled on Monday due to a day-long strike called by separatists against alleged ill-treatment of Kashmiri detainees in jails within and outside the state.
Meanwhile, curfew-like restrictions imposed in the downtown, Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and areas falling under two police stations in the civil lines and old city on Monday were lifted.
Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic were plying on all routes normally on Tuesday in the summer capital, Srinagar, where some busy routes witnessed traffic jam in civil lines and uptown.
All the shops were open in the main business hubs in civil lines, including historic Lal Chowk, Hari Singh High Street, Gonikhan, Residency Road, Maulana Azad Road, Mahraj Bazar, Batmaloo, Iqbal Park, Dalgate, Regal Chowk and Budshah Chowk.
The situation in the uptown was also similar, where shops and business establishments reopened after day-long strike yesterday. (PTK)
