Government forces on Thursday laid siege to at least 13 villages of Shopian district in south Kashmir and started search operation after input about the presence of militants, sources said.
The locals of Kadgam, Barbugh, Chiterwich, Imamsahib, Hillow, Manihal, Amurbugh, Badimarg, Yamrach, Munad Gofan, Woyen, DK Pora and others woke up amid massive deployment of army, CRPF and SOG personnel in nook and corner.
Forces have sealed all entry and exit points and started searches in a very vast area, local sources told Kashmir Reader.
This is for the fourth time in last five months when forces launched such a massive search operation in Shopian district.
