Three unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter in Kandi Aglar village of Pulwama district. An army trooper was also killed earlier.
Defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said that three militants, who are believed to be associated with Jaish-e-Muhammad, have been killed in the fierce encounter that broke out this evening at Kandi Aglar village.
The bodies of all the three militants were recovered along with two AK-47 rifles and a pistol, he said.
The identity of the militants is yet to be ascertained, said the defence spokesman, adding that the encounter is over now but searches are underway.
Earlier, an army namely Sham Sundar of 44RR was killed in the gunfight while a civilian has also been injured during stone-throwing clashes near the gunfight site. (GNS)
