An eye witness said that two persons, identified as Muneer Bhat and Ashraf of Gariend Khurd village of the district, were injured after their motorcycle collided with an army vehicle in Hajibagh.
Protests erupted in Soibugh village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday after two motorcyclists were injured in a road accident involving an army vehicle in nearby Hajibagh. An eye witness said that two persons, identified as Muneer Bhat and Ashraf of Gariend Khurd village of the district, were injured after their motorcycle was hit by an army vehicle in Hajibagh.
The injured were shifted to JVC hospital for treatment where doctors said the duo was out of danger. “Both have sustained grave injuries but were out of danger,” said a doctor at the facility. As the news of the accident spread, youth took to streets and pelted the army vehicle passing through the village with stones, said another witness. He said that army men vandalized the belongings of several shopkeepers following which the market got closed at Main Chowk Soibugh. Traffic movement was also disrupted because of stone-pelting protests, he said
