One civilian was killed and four others injured as massive clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Litter area of Pulwama district today after killing of two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in an early morning gunfight.
Official sources told that massive protests and clashes erupted near encounter site at Litter soon after gunning down of LeT commander Waseem Shah and his associate Nisar Ahmad Mir. Hundreds of people staged protests and pelted stones on forces.
Sources said during clashes, forces used teargas, pellets and fired some bullet shots in which one civilian identified as Gulzar Ahmad Mir of Illahi Bagh Lassipora Pulwama was killed and four others were injured. The slain was hit by a bullet and succumbed in hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities have snapped mobile internet services in Pulwama district in wake of Litter encounter and subsequent violence.
