Calling for an immediate end to the mysterious braid chopping incidents, Jammu and Kashmir State Employees Working Women Association (JKSEWWA), an amalgam of women employees working in different departments Wednesday termed the ‘failure’ of administration in tracing the braid choppers as ‘unfortunate’.
Reports said Abida Hassan Var, chairperson of the newly formed Association while addressing a presser here said it is unfortunate that the Police department had announced reward for the credible information regarding the braid choppers. The women folk is being forced to hit streets against such evil designs, she said.
She said that the authorities must crack the case immediately and the culprits involved in the heinous crime should be brought to book.
Stating that the association was formed to highlight the plights of women employees, working in different departments here, Var said, “We will work under one banner to highlight the plights of women employees.”
She also said that the newly formed association supports the Anganwadi workers who are protesting to press the government over their demands of enhancing the monthly honorarium. “We will standby with the employees fighting for their rights. The Anganwadi workers have been serving the department from past several years but it is unfortunate that the government is pushing them to the walls by not fulfilling their demands,” she said.
She also said that plights of the women employees will be highlighted in a peaceful manner.
