Expressing the hope that the people and the leadership shall rise to the occasion and meet the challenge against the vicious circle of Indian conspiracies and stand united and vigilant to lead the movement to its logical conclusion, two senior leaders of Hurriyat Conference (G) Molvi Bashir (chairman Mass Movement) and G A Gulzar (Chairman Insaf Party) issued a joint press statement on the auspicious occasion of release of a Ph.D scholar Gulzar Ahamad Wani of Tappar Balla (Baramulla) after 16 yrs of imprisonment for the crime which he never committed.
“The utter failure of India to suppress the people’s voice for their Right to Self Determination is an important milestone towards achieving the goal of the freedom movement. The indigenous character of our movement is yet another irritant for India which has caused frustration and fissures in the Indian military might and its political establishment. Out of a mere frustration the Indian fascist rulers are in search of another Afzal Guru to satisfy the conscience of the Nation on the one hand and to terrorize the pro freedom camp of Jammu and Kashmir on the other.”
The statement added that hundreds of such innocent educated youth had suffered the same fate at the hands of Indian intelligence agencies and the biased judiciary. Both the leaders saluted the patience and enthusiasm of this young scholar.
The leaders also prayed for the well being of the Convener of Azad Kashmir chapter of APHC (G), Gh. Mohammad Saffi, who is suffering from some heart problem and is scheduled to undergo an operation within few days.
