Asserting that government was adopting aggressive approach towards the resistance leadership, Hurriyat (M) spokesman has strongly condemned the continuous house arrest and imposition curbs on the social, political and religious activities of the amalgam Chairman, Dr Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
In view of the continuous house arrest of Mirwaiz, the spokesman in a statement to KNS said, “The democratic claims of the state were falling flat,” adding, the state has imposed blanket ban on the freedom of expression in Kashmir.
He, however, stressed that such ‘draconian’ measures would in no way weaken the resolve and commitment of the resistance leadership.
The Hurriyat (M) has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of convener of the amalgam Azad Kashmir chapter Faiz Naqashbandi.
The amalgam has extended its condolences and sympathy with Naqashbandi and his bereaved family.
Senior Hurriyat leaders including Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, Musadiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Advocate Abdul Majid Banday, and Abdul Majeed wani visited Nishat today to condole with the bereaved Nqashbandi family and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the family while recalling the contributions of Naqashbandi family towards the freedom struggle.
Another delegation of Hurriyat leaders including, Khaleel Ahmad Khaleel, GN Najar, and others visited the house of Hurriyat activist Ghulam Mohamamd Pandit at Wadoora Sopore to express condolence on death of his father Abdul Jabar Pandit.
Expressing their condolence and sympathy with Pandit and the bereaved family, the delegation prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased. (KNS)
