Extends heartfelt condolences to bereaved family
National Conference Provincial President and Former Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday visited the residence of young 23 year old Roshni Kaur of Mehjoor Nagar who lost her life in a devastating fire incident on Tuesday. Expressing grief and shock over the tragedy, Nasir Aslam Wani extended his heartfelt condolences to Sardar Darshan Singh and his family and said he stood in solidarity with them in their hour of loss.
In a statement, NC Working President and former MLA Amira Kadal also said the Government should ensure such incidents don’t reoccur and extend all possible support and assistance to the victims promptly and as a matter of priority. “The Government should immediately dispense ex-Gratia relief and ensure the family is rehabilitated till the structure is renovated and made fit for in-habitation again”, the NC Working President said.
The NC Working President also asked the Administration to ascertain reports of how fire tenders were caught in a traffic jam that prevented them from reaching the location of the fire in a timely manner. “This needs to be probed and immediate steps need to be taken to ensure emergency services vehicles are given a free and open passage in cases of such emergencies at all costs”, Nasir Aslam Wani added.
