Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today informed the Legislative Assembly that the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Tangnar is likely to be made functional by ending February 2017.
He said around 40 villages/habitations of Chadoora constituency would be benefitted after the commissioning of the scheme. “The scheme was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 148 crore, against which an amount of Rs 135 crore stands utilized so far,” he informed the house.
The Minister was replying to a Question by Javaid Mustafa Mir in the house.
Syed Altaf Ahmed Bukhari raised supplementary question and urged the government to also cover Amira Kadal constituency under the above scheme for which the formalities stand completed.
13 irrigation schemes in Gulabgarh proposed under PMKSY: Sham Choudhary.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Chaudhary today informed the Legislative Assembly that 13 new irrigation schemes have been proposed for Gulabgarh constituency under PMKSY.
Replying to a question by Haji Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, the Minister said presently Gulabgarh constituency is partially covered under irrigation network of 29 Khuls.
“Of 29 Khuls, 25 are partially functional while 4 are defunct. Partially functional and defunct schemes have been proposed for remodeling and restoration under PMKSY. Besides 13 more schemes have been proposed under PMKSY and included in the District Irrigation Plan,” he said.
He also said that total estimated cost of the 42 schemes reflected in District Irrigation Plan amounts to Rs 41.86 crore. “These schemes will be taken up within a period of five years and will irrigate 2935 hectares of Gulabgarh constituency,” he said.
