Inhabitants of Abu Bakar Colony area of Naik Bagh Srinagar are up in arms against the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for ‘failing to dewater’ their area.
The residents said that the heavy snowfall from past couple of days has resulted in the water logging in the area while the authorities are watching as mute spectators with taking no action in this regard.
The resident said that the authorities have failed to dewater their areas thereby resulted in the sever hardships to the inhabitants here. “We are facing tremendous hardships due to the negligence of the authorities. The authorities have ignores us at all fronts,” the residents said.
They said that they approached to the higher ups in this regard but unfortunately they failed to look into the matter thereby leaving the residents to lurch at large.
They said that there is no drainage system in the areas and whenever it rains that result in water logging.”Authorities must take necessary steps in this regard at earliest,” they demanded.
Meanwhile, Mufti Aabdi, a senior SMC official told that the residents have already received a complaint in this regard. ‘We will soon depute a team to dewater the area,” he added. (KNS)
