Police said that on Friday afternoon a scuffle broke out between two groups over some issue at Makhama under the jurisdiction of Police Station Magam, Budgam soon after the culmination of Friday prayers. Police reached the spot immediately to restore normalcy and bring order among the unruly groups. Police said some started pelting stones on the police party. During this incident some unknown persons snatched an INSAS rifle and fled away.
Police has taken cognizance and a case has been registered in the matter.
Meanwhile, after the culmination of Friday congregational prayers, Police said some people in order to “intimidate civilians” started disrupting normal life by pelting stones upon the deployment at Bada Bazaar Sopore.
During the stone pelting one 09 year old -passerby Mursaleen Azad Dar son of Azad Ahmad Dar resident of Batapora, Sopore was hit by a stone and received head injury. He was immediately rushed to hospital for medical treatment. Sopore police has registered a case and investigation was taken up.
