Soon after the Friday congregational prayers, chief cleric of Kashmir and Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest again
“Immediately after Mirwaiz reached home he was informed about his house detention,” media advisor to Mirwaiz and Hurriyat (M) spokesman, advocate Shahid ul Islam said.
He added that Mirwaiz was released at 12:30 and was placed under house arrest again at 2:45 pm.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Jamia Masjid Auqaf, Srinagar alleged authorities of not allowing people to reach Jamia for Friday prayers.
“Since the siege of Jamia was lifted, authorities do not allow people to reach the Jamia on Fridays,” the spokesman alleged. He added that all the main entry points remain sealed on Fridays to stop people from reaching the historic Jamia.
