Army on Friday paid tributes to a soldier who officials was killed in sniper fire from across the border in Machil sector of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Havaldar Satnam Singh sustained gunshot wounds in the attack on Nov 9. He was administered immediate first aid, but succumbed to injuries, said an official.
“Homage was paid to the valour and sacrifice of the slain soldier in a solemn ceremony held at Badami Bagh Cantonment,” said an army spokesman.
The mortal remains of Hav Satnam singh will be flown for last rites to his native place where he will be laid to rest with full military honours.
