Three civilians were injured on Wednesday in Pakistan shelling at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch border district, a police officer said.
The officer said the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked shelling in Mendhar, Balakot and Bhimber Ghali sectors in Poonch after the nightlong lull on both the International Border and the LoC.
“The Pakistan Army used 120 mm and 82 mm mortars to target civil and military facilities. Three civilians were injured in Mendhar sector,” the police officer said.
“The army has appropriately retaliated Pakistan shelling and firing.”
The fresh cross-border shelling came a day after eight civilians were killed and 24 injured in Pakistan firing on the International Border and the LoC on Tuesday. (Agencies)
