Two youths were critically injured after they received pellets during clashes in Ancahr and Jinab Sahab Soura area of Srinagar, reports said on Wednesday.
Local sources said that clashes intensified in the area after forces allegedly went berserk.
They said that forces are not allowing any ambulances to evacuate the injured. “Several have received injured but they are yet to reach hospital because of the tight cordon,” they said.
Earlier, forces raided Aanchar locality this morning and cordoned the whole area. Local sources said, “forces barged in to homes and beat people ruthlessly.”
Reportedly police and para-military forces personnel cordoned Anchar and Jinab Sahab areas and started firing tear gas shells prior to raids on many residential houses.
“We were scared of sudden and unprovoked shelling,” a local said adding “we thought encounter had started in the area.”
Sources said that forces raided many residential houses in the area. Locals alleged ransacking at the hands of forces.
They said that as soon as forces started raids in Jinab Sahab area, they fired many shots in air to disperse the protesting people.
