The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has summoned Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit following a series of continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) and heavy shelling in residential areas along the International Border.
This decision has been taken to ensure the safety and security of people, who are facing trouble for more than 100 days.
Earlier, in a recent attack, at least six civilians were injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in R.S. Pura sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
According to reports, the Pakistani Rangers started unprovoked shelling targeting Indian posts and civilian areas in Arnia area of R.S. Pura on Wednesday night.
Later, they also started heavy shelling in Ramgarh area of adjoining Samba sector and other areas of R.S. Pura.
The BSF retaliated the shelling and gave befitting reply.
Heavy exchange of gunfire between the border forces of both the countries is still continuing in Sai, Treva, Bidipur, Joda, Arnia, SM Pur, Chanliyal etc.
Two BSF soldiers have lost their lives in cross-border firing along the Jammu International border (IB) during the past one week.
