“We met Geelani sahib in a cordial atmosphere.” This was the quick reaction of former foreign minister Yashwant Sinha after the delegation led by him met Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani at his residence on Tuesday.
Sinha is leading a five member delegation to meet separatists to break the ice between separatists and New Delhi and pave way for a dialogue.
“We are here to talk to separatists,” Sinha told reporters outside the residence of Geelani adding “we are here to understand the sufferings of Kashmiri people and we are not representing the government of India.”
