Unidentified persons have stolen an Automatic Teller Machine containing Rs 9 lakh cash in it. The incident occurred during the intervening night of 19 and 20 October, sources said.
However, a police handout that didn’t mention the total amount present in the looted ATM claimed that incident has occurred during the intervening night of 20 and 21 October. The handout reads: “an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) was stolen from a bank in Magam area of central Kashmir’s Kashmir Budgam district, police said today.
A spokesman said that Branch Manager of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Branch Hardu Abura Magam reported in Police Station Magam that during intervening night of 20th and 21st October 2016, some unknown thieves stole ATM Machine along with cash from the said branch.”
A case FIR number 171/2016 under section 457, 380 RPC was registered in Police Station Magam and investigation is going on,” the handout reads.
