Employees Joint Action Committee Thursday during a session that was presided by its president Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed serious concern on the implication of Government Employees in false cases, harassing and their arrests.
The session termed the Employees as a part of society and public and feeling the pain, emotions and suffering of fellow being is a natural phenomenon but it never means that the employees and their representatives be involved in false, fabricated cases and their arrests or suspending them illegally. The session strongly condemned the illegal harassment of employees by the Govt.
The employees were assured that EJAC shall stand by them in all circumstances and won’t hesitate to offer any sacrifice. The session termed the suspending of employees without Departmental enquiry especially of teachers on different pretexts and accusations as unfortunate and urged that harassing of employees be stopped immediately otherwise EJAC would take stringent measures in defense of employees and the whole responsibility shall lie on Govt.
While commenting in the session on the news items published recently in some section of press regarding the forced retirement of employees, the EJAC President said that forced retirement of employees shall have serious repercussions and EJAC decided to fight tooth and nail at all levels against such steps like forced retirement. Mr wani said that count nous use of pellet guns is a brazen human rights violation and demanded complete Ban on the use of lethal we opens like pellet guns. Mean while EJAC has called an emergency meeting of all the leaders at its central office Nowgam on 17th October (Monday) to discuss the future course of action regarding the above issues.
