In yet another incident of cross border firing, Pakistan and Indian armies Friday resorted to heavy shelling and gunfire on each other’s positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region.
“Heavy shelling and firing started in Malta area in Poonch district today (Friday) morning after Pakistan Army resorted to indiscriminate mortar shelling and firing at Indian military and civilian positions,” defense sources said.
They said Indian Army effectively retaliated, using same calibre weapons.
India and Pakistan have been accusing each other of violating the ceasefire after every such incident along the LoC or International Border (IB).
India and Pakistan had signed the bilateral ceasefire agreement in November 2013.
