The meeting was held today by NGO’S coordinating committee with Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Block Medical Officer, Zonal Medical Officer, para medical staff members at Public Health Centre, Zadibal at 11.30 a.m on Tuesday, on the occasion of Muharram. The meeting started with the recitation of Quran, in which light was thrown on the martyrdom of Imam Hussain a.s.
Further in the meeting, it was discussed about the requisite needs of the medicines and first aid to be provided to the different NGO’S and the arrangements to be made by the health department regarding the Muharram processions and other facilities to be provided by the health department for the smooth functioning of the health department and the NGO’S who work voluntarily on humanitarian groups in Muharram and other festivals of the valley.
The meeting lasted for two and a half hours, many questions were asked to Chief Medical Officer, who very politely cooperated with NGO’S and satisfied them with his answers. Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar assured the NGO’s that they will be provided with the requisite needs as their demands and as per the past practices they do.
Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar said we work like a family and we are incomplete without one another’s support and help, he further praised the NGO’S for their outstanding work they do in this unrest. About 35 representatives of different NGO’S participated in the meeting, who unanimously gave their full support to the health department in the time of any need during Muharram and unrest.
The meeting was organized himself by the chief medical officer, on the invitation and request made to him by NGO’S coordination committe, who himself presided over the meeting, to take stock of the measures and arrangements made by heath department in this regard. He instructed his para medical staff to remain present and be prepared for any help to be rendered to the NGO’S. He further said, that within 2 to 3 days medicines and first aid would be distributed among the NGO’S as per their requisite needs, so that no problems would be faced in their their smooth functioning.
At the end the chairman NGO’S coordination committee, thanked the chief medical officer, block medical officer, zonal Medical Officer and para medical staff for availing their precious time, by coming to public health Center, Zadibal to listen to their problems, demands, for the smooth functioning of the organizations during the Muharram days.
