Asks Police chief to stop state terrorism in Jammu region
AIP workers led by party head Er Rasheed today staged one hour peaceful sit-in in front of state DGP’s office at Srinagar to protest against the atrocities on Jammu Muslims.
In the afternoon, dozens of AIP volunteers holding play-cards in support of Jammu Muslims and against communal forces sat at sit-in at the main gate of police headquarters Pirbagh and started chanting strong slogans seeking end to injustices, arrests and PSAs in Jammu region, said AIP in a statement.
Talking to media persons on the occasion Er Rasheed said, “The divisional administration in Jammu is being completely controlled by fringe and radical Hindu forces and from local SHOs to top rank police officers, the directions given by local Sung Parivar leaders have become like government orders for them to be implemented. Mehbooba Mufti needs to wake up, though she is already too late.”
He asked the State DGP should ensure an end to state terrorism in Jammu region and must order unconditional release of all those arrested in Chenab valley during last few weeks.
He made it clear that seeking resolution to Kashmir dispute through plebiscite doesn’t make people of Jammu province communal or anti-Indian.
Er Rasheed also sought unconditional release of all detainees slapped with PSA in Jammu region without any excuses.
The protestors also sought immediate release of human rights activist Khuram Parvaiz. Er Rasheed reminded J&K Police not to forget that whatsoever is happening in state has nothing to do with law and order, as it is a political issue. He urged police jawans not to forget the fact that despite wearing uniform they are Kashmiris and can’t remain isolated from their society and people.
