Scores of students, mostly girls of high and higher secondary standard, on Tuesday held a protest rally in Ajas Eidgah in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district to protest against what they called government’s ill-conceived policies.
The protestors held placards and marched from Jamia Masjid Ajas to Eidgah saying that they won’t appear in the examinations unless Kashmir issue was resolved.
“We have decided to boycott the exams, come what may as government is using us as a shield to show the world that nothing is wrong in the valley,” said one of the protesting students.
The students said that Kashmir is political issue and it should be addressed politically.
“Government should first stop killing, blinding and maiming innocent Kashmiri children and then they should talk about exams,” they said.
A similar protest was held in Bandipora town yesterday with students saying that they were ready to sacrifice their career for resolution of Kashmir issue.
