Expressing grief over the martyrdom of a youth, Waseem Ahmad Lone in Nadihal, Rafiabad, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday said the Indian occupational forces have become so merciless that they even showered bullets on the people who were busy in their farm fields.
In a statement, DFP general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari said such merciless killing is enough proof that India through its military might wants to terrorise the people of Jammu Kashmir to the level as to not raise voice for their rights.
Holding the State administration responsible for the merciless killing, Tari questioned whether these (killings) are part of the ‘agenda of alliance’. “The present political dispensation must tell the people whether turning the State into a slaughterhouse is the ‘vision’ they have for the people,” he said and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Moulana Tari expressed strong resentment over the arbitrary slapping of PSAs on people irrespective of their age and shifting them to outside J&K jails saying it only reveals the frustration of the so-called government. “This is an emergency like situation. The authorities should instead book every person under PSA as the people are already living in a military garrison where every kind of freedom is choked. The prevailing situation can only be compared with Nazism,” he said.
Moulana Tari said despite the so-called drama of ‘Battle of Ideas’, the veteran leader Syed Ali Geelani has been under house detention since 2010 while as Shabir Ahmad Shah,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Ayaz Akbar, and other leaders have been arrested besides dozens are arrested every day.
The DFP general secretary also condemned the restrictions on Friday prayers in several areas particularly Hajin, Sopore, Baramullah, Kokernag, Islamabad, Srinagar; terming it interference in religious affairs. “People were not allowed to offer prayers at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar for the consecutive 11 Fridays. Also, reports of forces vandalizing properties and residential houses in Ompora, Rangreth, and other areas have come up. This is so shameful. India is the only country in the world where such oppressive measures are being used against the people of the occupied territory,” Tari said.
