Clashes erupted between the government forces and protesters in Gulshanabad area of Chrar-e-Sharif town in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.
Local sources said that seven persons were injured so far in the ongoing clashes among which 2 with pellet injuries in their eyes were referred to SHMS for advanced treatment.
They said that authorities had deployed police and CRPF in large numbers in the town to foil ‘Chrar Challo’ call given by the joint Hurriyat leaders.
Clashes started as locals assembled and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans and government forces fired tear smoke canisters to disperse them.
Initially, only two protesters were injured, sources said adding however five more were injured after some time when forces fired pellets against protesters.
