Say Pak PM gave voice to ‘oppressed voices’ of Kashmiris
After Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raked the Kashmir issue time and again in his strong speech at the United Nations general assembly speech, which was well received by one and all in Kashmir, the Hurriyat leaders are all praise for the Pakistan Premier.
The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah in his statement not only hailed the speech of Nawaz Sharif but termed it a “voice of the oppressed people of Jammu Kashmir”.
Shah expressed hope that world leadership will play a positive role vis-à-vis Kashmir dispute by taking practical steps towards finding its solution.
Shah said Nawaz Sharif acted as a spokesperson of the people of Jammu Kashmir and urged the world leaders to use their good offices for putting an end to bloodshed at the hands of Indian forces in the occupied State.
He said the Pak premier’s call to hold a plebiscite in Jammu Kashmir is “based on truth and justice” and the move will “obviously validate or nullify” Indian claims on the disputed territory.
Hardcore Hurriyat leader and Chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi expressed her gratitude to Nawaz Sharif, for his “bold and realistic speech” on Kashmir at the UNGA session.
She said Pakistan’s efforts to internationalise the ongoing Kashmiri resistance movement is a success. “It was an obligation for the people and pro-resistance leadership to sustain the ongoing movement until India is forced to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination,” Andrabi said.
She said the speech by Nawaz Sharif at the UNGA is a big step towards the success of the ongoing resistance movement.
“Despite, India’s false propaganda and difficulties within the country, Pakistan showed to the world that how much they are concerned about Kashmiris,” she said.
Another Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yousuf Naqash also welcomes Sharif’s speech saying Pakistan Prime Minister in a very honourable way highlighted “Indian atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Naqash said the whole conflict, confrontation, and instability in South Asia particularly the ever-increasing rivalry between two nuclear neighbouring nations – India and Pakistan – is the unresolved Kashmir dispute which if resolved will bring peace in the entire region.
Hurriyat leader and chairman Tehreek-e-Mazahmat, Bilal Sidiqee also hailed Pakistan Prime Minister for his speech In UNGA and said the people of Jammu and Kashmir feel that their voice is being raised on international forums.
Sidiqee said, “We are indebted to the people of Pakistan and their leaders. It is really a voice of voiceless people and world community should not snub on mere pretext of strife between two neighboring countries,” he said.
“UNO is a forum where suppressed and subjugated nations have right to plead their case,” he said.
JKLF ( R ) Chief patron Barrister Ab Majid Trambu also hailed the speech of Nawaz Sharif and said that he represented the case and aspiration of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, United Jihad Council in a statement to PTK also hailed the speech of Nawaz and appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to stand united and steadfast in their struggle that will soon see the dawn of victory.
