Government forces on Sunday resorted to tear smoke shelling to foil a freedom rally in central Kashmir’s Budgam district resulting in injuries to scores.
Sources said that the rally was to be held at Rathsun area of Budgam district.
As the people assembled in the ground of a local mosque, government forces came and started firing tear smoke shells, a local said.
He said that people ran for their lives however, later they re-assembled and started pelting stones on forces.
Clashes were going on when reports last came in.
Meanwhile, after the demise of Wadwen youth early today, the whole area was tense while stone pelting was going on at many places in the central Kashmir district, sources said.
