Shabir Shah appeals people to make UN Chalo on Eid a success
Reacting over the reports that more forces will be deployed in south Kashmir, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah today said it invalidates the claims of Indian leaders and their puppets in J&K that Kashmir uprising is run by a handful of people.
In a statement issued to PTK, Shah said if India deploys all its forces in Jammu Kashmir, the people won’t give up struggling for their rights. He also termed the New Delhi’s rhetoric of Kashmir being its integral part as a “joke”.
“The people of Jammu Kashmir are forced on gunpoint to acknowledge the rhetoric that their State is an integral part of India. That is why more troops are reinforced,” he said.
Hailing the pro-freedom spirit and resolve of the people of Kashmir, Shah said life and death is in the hands of Almighty and that Kashmiris see no difference between the “Indian occupational troops and J&K Police”.
“The people of Jammu Kashmir cannot be cowed down by any measures of oppression and suppression and they will continue to pursue their goal of freedom. The forces must bear in mind that people will hold them answerable for the crimes committed against them,” he said and appealed people to continue the freedom movement.
Shah reiterated his appeal to people to observe Eid with extreme austerity and simplicity saying, “We are passing through a very crucial phase and on this Eid we should not forget those in need. We are celebrating this festival with heavy heart as our 80 youth were snatched from us and thousands subjected to injuries and disabilities. We are in a mournful state. In reality, there is no Eid in slavery; our real Eid will be when we achieve freedom from Indian slavery, In Sha Allah.”
The DFP chairman appealed people to make the UN Chalo programme on Eid a success saying we have to send a clear message to world that we are being killed for demanding our right to self-determination.
Shah hailed the media fraternity who he said has rendered immense services to nation by highlighting the atrocities of people in a very objective manner.
He said the disallowing of veteran resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani’s press conference is nothing but frustration of the so-called government. “Sometimes they dispatch letters for talks after caging the leaders and sometimes hand the affairs to army,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed grief over the killing of youths Abdul Qayoom of Aali Kadal and Sayar Ahmad Sheikh of Shopian, and Yawar Ahmad Dar of Batengoo, Islamabad saying the forces are ruling the roost across State and are killing people as per their wishes and desires. Shah expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for their forbearance.
