Congress party Thursday demanded immediate ban on use of pellet guns and initiation of dialogue with all separatist leaders on Kashmir.
State Congress Vice President and MLA Sopore Haji Abdul Rasheed Dar stressed on the need for initiating a political dialogue with stakeholders in the state saying it is “very important” even as he demanded an immediate ban on use of pellet guns against protesters.
“The Indian Home Minister had assured people of Kashmir that ban will be imposed on the use of pellet guns but unfortunately pellets are still being showered upon protesters here. By using pellets on protesters the government wants to create an army of blind youth in Valley,” Dar said.
“Congress party believes that it is very important that a political dialogue be initiated with the stakeholders of Jammu and Kashmir”.
“The situation is getting worse day by day. The confrontationist attitude, the use of force to control the situation is not the solution to any problem. The nocturnal raids must stop and so should stop the process of arrest spree in the length and breadth of Kashmir,” he said. (CNS)
