‘Govt backed Ulemas’ should read history before holding peace March to Kashmir’
Reacting against the reports that a delegation of Muslim “scholars” from India will hold a peace march to Kashmir with Qur’an in one hand and tri-colour in another, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today said such activities are done by those who are materialistic and want to seek the pleasure of rulers.
In a statement, DFP general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari asked people to differentiate between ‘Ulema-e-Haq’ and ‘Ulema-e-Soo’ saying those who act a “yes men” of others and follow their dictations have nothing to do with the pulpit nor have they any right to interfere in “major issues”.
“These so-called government-sponsored people before undertaking such march should go through the history of Jammu Kashmir and subcontinent. It would be our pleasure to listen to each and every individual or group who can muster courage to call spade a spade; support truth by raising voice in favour of the oppressed,” Tari said.
“Everything will be clear once you come here and witness the pro-freedom spirit and resolve of the people of Kashmir. We hope the visit will be a breakthrough for you people in rejuvenating your imaan (belief),” Tari said in his message to the delegation.
Terming the remarks of Mehbooba Mufti against the resistance leadership and people as “frustration”, he asked her to apologise to all those families whose kith and kin were martyred during the ongoing anti-India uprising.
“We are not scared of intimidations. It would be better for Mehbooba Mufti to resign and repent for her wrongdoings,” he said, adding, “The letters (for talks with All Party Delegation) dispatched by the so-called chief minister to incarcerated resistance leaders was nothing but a joke.”
Reiterating that Kashmir is not India’s internal issue, Tari said the (Kashmir) dispute cannot be resolved through just bilateral talks.
“Instead of fulfilling the demands put forward by resistance leadership, authorities arrested further more than 2000 youth and political activists, then invites for talks. Isn’t this a joke? Reality is that India and its collaborators by staging the dram of talks want to mislead the world community,” he said.
On Mehbooba’s “Tehreek and Tehzeeb” remarks, Moulana Tari termed it her “ignorance” saying the ongoing anti-India uprising is an open chapter of the freedom movement.
“Every child is chanting the slogans of Azadi. Can Mehbooba tell where is the ‘Tehzeeb’ in putting the resistance leadership behind bars?” he said.
Meanwhile, Moulana paid tributes to youth Naseer Ahmad of Seer Hamdan, Islamabad, and Asif Majeed Nagu of Kralgund, Langate, who were martyred in forces’ firing and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. “The so-called administration has let loose the anti-people forces who kill people after barging inside homes,” he said.
